The police have conducted an enforcement operation against massage establishments and public entertainment outlets on 20 March 2018.
During the operations, officers from Central Police Division conducted a series of enforcement checks on public entertainment outlets and licensed massage establishments located along Aliwal Street, Prinsep Street, Rangoon Road, Jalan Besar, North Bridge Road, Victoria Street, Lorong Telok, Jalan Klapa and Perak Road. Six women, aged between 21 and 32, were arrested for employment related offences.
Five massage establishments and four public entertainment outlets were also found to have contravened licensing conditions. Actions will be taken against the operators under the Public Entertainment Act and Massage Establishment Act.
Investigations are ongoing and the Police will continue to take tough enforcement stance against such activities.
