No hostage at Ho Ching Road, S’poreans more interested in the name than the incident

A 50-year-old man locked himself in the house with two of his family members and was arrested after having a stand-off with the police. This took place at Ho Ching road located in Taman Jurong.

Approximately 40 to 50 officers from the police and the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) were present at the scene. Thankfully, no one was injured.

Earlier media reports noted that it was a possible hostage situation but the police has clarified that it was not the case.

When news first broke, Singaporeans actually seemed more interested in the road name than the actual situation.

Ho Ching Road

“Ho Ching Road” even made it to Google search.

Some Singaporeans decided to help put things into perspective.

We should never take our peace and security for granted. Stay vigilant.
