Latest update: The boys have been found.

Two 11-year-old boys, Javier Teo Ren Jie and Axel Lim Jun Wei, have been reported missing for more than 24 hours.

According to the police, Javier was last seen at Block 273D, Compassvale Link, around  7.10am on Thursday and Axel was last seen at a shopping mall in Rivervale Drive at about 7.30pm on Thursday.

Both boys are believed to be classmates.

A Facebook user by the name of Leftone Shady published a post around 7.43pm yesterday, stating that her son Javier went out with his classmate for a game of cards at the plaza but has not returned home since then.

The post has been widely shared for over 5,000 times on Facebook and a few netizens questioned if her son has been neglected by the family as there are only photos of Leftone Shady and her daughter on her Facebook account.

However, she has clarified that she is not Javier’s biological mother and do not often post his photos online to prevent misunderstanding with his biological mother.

She has also appealed to the public to refrain from speculating why Javier is not home as the entire family is currently affected by this incident and has been trying their best to locate him.

According to a report by the Straits Times, the boys are believed to have planned on running away.

A police report has been lodged.

If you have any information on the boys, please call the police hotline on 1800-255-0000 or submit information online at www.police.gov.sg/iwitness. All information will be kept strictly confidential.
