A 25-year-old man, Koh Rong Guang, went on trial for raping a 13-year-old girl four times in different occasions as well as forcing her to take nude photographs of herself and ask his friend to upload them on his Facebook page.
The offences took place between November 2013 and December 2014, reported by the Mainstream Media, The Straits Times.
A police report was made when the girl, who is now 17-year-old, found a collage of her sexually explicit photo circulating online.
Koh Rong Guang, who is a self-employed, faces 12 charges in total (4 statutory rape, 1 sexual assault by penetration, 3 criminal intimidation, 2 committing an indecent act with a young person, 1 causing hurt and 1 circulating nude photo of the girl).
The girl got to meet Koh through a mutual friend by the name Fu Yiming.
Fu, 16-year-old, was a member of a group led by Koh that used to hang out at Choa Chu Kang Lot 1.
According to the girl statement, Koh had accosted her when they were at a karaoke outlet in Lot 1 and that when she got raped by Koh at a staircase in late 2013.
The second incident happened a few weeks later, Koh had allegedly forced her into a corner of the staircase and threatened her by using a spanner to hit the wall near her face. He then forced the girl to perform a blowjob on him and raped her again.
After the rape, he forced her to strip and took photos of her in nude and sent the photo to Yiming via WhatsApp.
The third incident occurred at the staircase of Blk 672A Choa Chu Kang Crescent, where Koh raped her again in front of another 2 youths who were part of the group, Koh offered the two youths to join in and have sex with her but they declined.
The last incident happened on Jan 24, 2014, when Koh contacted the girl and asked her to meet him, she was afraid of being threatened and get raped again, she asked Yiming to accompany her.
When they reached the location, Koh threatened them with a brick and start attacking Yiming. The girl then felt very helpless by no choice to follow Koh to another floor and he started raping her again. Then he made Yiming and the girl strip naked and pose in a sexually explicit manner and took photos of them.
He later told a friend to upload all the photo on his Facebook page.
The girl will start testifying on Jan 16 behind closed doors and the trial is expected to be on-going for eight days.
For statutory rape, Koh Rong Guang could face between 8 to 20 years’ jail and at least 12 strokes of the cane.
