If you’re flying to Hong Kong and you will take the public bus to the city, you ought to be more careful with your luggages.

Hong Kong

In recent weeks, there have been several airlines passengers whose luggages were stolen from the city-bound buses.

Police in Hong Kong have confirmed that there were two cases reported in December. But the numbers might not be formally quantified because it “did not maintain the requested figures”.

A 25 year old woman and a 51 year old woman lost their suitcases with contents valued about HL$4,000 and HK$5,600 in December.

A Hong Kong police source said that the nature of the thefts  “appear to involve a significant number of mainland culprits – suggests it is a very well organised, syndicated crime gang”.

Those who were targeted were sitting on the upper level of the double-decker buses, but left their luggages in the baggage compartment located on the lower level of the bus.
