After a large tree toppled onto the road and injured a few people in Toa Payoh, today 70 residents had to evacuate from their HDB after an explosion.
Residents said that they heard a loud bang before they saw flames and black smoke coming out of a 15th floor unit at Block 45 Lorong 5 Toa Payoh today (10 January).
The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) was alerted to the incident at 9.40am and entered the unit forcibly upon arrival.
70 residents from the block were evacuated by both the SCDF and the police.
Today’s incident is just one of the few unusual incidents that has been reported in the news in recent weeks.
Just a few days back, a resident’s ‘irregular behaviour’ was also reported in the news.
