Taiwanese bikini girls in game machines draw interests and backlash

Monmonda is Taiwan’s largest crane game facility in Tainan. It opened on 5 December by putting women in bikini into 4 game machines and filling it with soft toys and other prizes.

The issue has raised some eyebrows in Taiwan. In a live video which was posted on its Facebook page, the women posed provocatively for the cameras, while sitting among the soft toys.

Some netizens in Taiwan criticised the way it was done.

According to a Taiwanese news channel, some comments included:

“This is treating women like objects,”

“I feel dirty just watching this,”

“What are children supposed to think when they see this?”

After the backlash, the company apparently posted an apology saying that “From now on we will reconsider standards for preparing events.”
