From 1 January, travellers at Changi Airport will have to keep a tight watch on the time, otherwise they could miss their flight.

Travellers should not expect to hear announcements for final call or missing passengers on flights over the public announcement system.

The only announcements that will be made include those for emergencies, lost and found children and passports, flight delays, gate changes and belt changes.

The move is expected to make Changi a more pleasant and quieter airport.

Changi Airport has requested all airlines to emphasise the boarding time to passengers at the point of check-in and to advise them to be at the gate punctually.

So if you don’t want to miss your flight at the airport, remember to watch the time closely. After all there are more than 600 analogue and digital clocks in both the public and transit areas in all four terminals at the airport.
