No MRT: 10 stations along EWL will be closed for two full days in Jan’ 18

If you’re planning to travel to the east of Singapore in January 2018, do take note that 10 stations along the East-West Line will be closed for the entire day for train maintenance.

East-West Line

On 21st and 28th of January 2017, there will be no MRT service between Paya Lebar and Pasir Ris. For those heading to Changi Airport from Expo, train service will also not be available.

There are two shuttle buses – one from Aljunied to Pasir Ris and the other from Expo to Changi Airport Terminal 3.

These affected stations will also close at 11pm on Fridays and Saturdays and open at 8am on Saturdays and Sundays.

This means that train service in the eastern part of Singapore will be affected on all weekends in January. Thankfully, there are only two full day closures.

North-South Line

There will be longer train intervals at certain timings between Orchard and Marina South Pier stations.

The affected MRT train services will be operating on a single track on late Friday and Saturday nights, and early Saturday and Sunday mornings.

Commuters should expect a longer waiting time of 10 to 15 minutes before 7am and after 11pm on certain days.

During these timings, there will be no train service between City Hall and Raffles Place as well.

Remember to plan ahead for a smoother transport journey! Share this with your family and friends.
