Civil servants Year end bonus is here again…

civil servants

This year, they will receive one month’s worth of Annual Variable Component (AVC).

Lower-wage civil servants will receive more – they will get a minimum bonus of S$1,800.

Approximately 1,490 civil servants will benefit from it.

Assuming an officer earns a monthly pay of $1,500, he or she will receive $300 more than what he would have gotten at 1 month of his or her pay.

The Public Service Division consulted the public sector unions to decide the amount of payment including the minimum payment for the lower-wage workers.

The AVC payment is in line with the more positive economic outlook for this year compared to last year.

In total, civil servants will receive a full year-AVC of 1.5 month for this year (including 0.5 month in July). This does not include the 13th month bonus of 1 month.

In civil service, 13th month bonus is also known as the “Non-Pensionable Annual Allowance (NPAA).
