E-scooter zipped past at 60km/hr on footpath and crashed into a 7-yr-old boy, causing injuries

We’ve heard how dangerous e-scooters are. According to the law, they are only allowed to travel at 15 km/hr on footpaths.

Bryan Goh published a Facebook post claiming that his son got hit by an e-scooter on a pedestrian pavement in Woodlands.

His friend accompanied him to pick up his 7-year-old son from school and when they were on the footpath, they suddenly spotted an e-scooter approaching them at 50-60km/hr.

It was only a 1.5 metres wide footpath so they kept to the right to make way for the e-scooter. They also asked the young boy to move to his right.

Unfortunately, the boy’s vision was blocked as he was standing at the back.

There was a loud noise and the boy’s right shoulder was hit. He fell and hit the right side of his head. The person on the e-scooter fell on the lawn.

According to Bryan, his son was unresponsive after the crash and could not speak normally for six hours.

He suffered from bleeding at his mouth, severe bruises on his right cheek, a sprain on his left wrist and injuries on his hands and feet.

He also cried uncontrollably.

The boy vomited three times and the doctor believed that it was a concussion.

Bryan said that the e-scooter rider accused them for causing him to be injured and even raised his fist in aggression. He also allegedly blamed the boy for dashing out on the pedestrian pavement.

The boy tried to protect his father when he saw the e-scooter rider attempting to hurt his father.

Bryan quickly pulled his son aside and called the police to handle the matter. When his wife arrived at the scene, she advised her husband to keep his cool.

The e-scooter rider tried to leave the scene but Bryan’s friend stopped him from escaping and asked him to wait for police to arrive.
