A 19-year-old girl died after she fell from the 11th storey at Block 225 Toa Payoh Lorong 8 at around 5am last Sunday (Nov 5).

This happened after she met up with her ex-boyfriend for a chat on the day of the incident.

According to many residents, there was a loud bang and some were awoken by the shouts that followed.

When the media visited the block, they found the deceased’s father, Mr He, 57, crying alone in his flat.

The deceased’s parents heard about the tragedy when her daughter’s ex-boyfriend visited the family’s hawker stall in Ang Mo Kio.

He said his wife kept crying and his daughter’s ex-boyfriend kept apologising profusely to them and broke down in tears.

Mr He revealed that his daughter was a stubborn individual and insisted on being together with her ex-boyfriend despite his wife’s objections. His wife felt they were still too young.

They did not expect their daughter to break up with the boyfriend.

After the breakup, Mr He said his daughter did not have much appetite and lost a lot of weight.

He said, “I believe this incident happened because she couldn’t let go of the relationship. I have brought her up for 19 years, but she’s gone just like that. She was too foolish…”

The police found a 19-year-old girl lying motionless at the foot of a block in Toa Payoh. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigations are ongoing.
