Nahhh…it’s been sold off, but to a local entertainment company by the name of mm2 Asia.
mm2 Asia is acquiring Cathay Cineplexes’ 8 cinemas for $230 million.
The Cathay brand has been around for more than eight decades and belong to the family of Cathay Organisation’s managing director Choo Meileen.
The company today has businesses in not just cinemas and film distribution but in advertising, events management as well as property and hotel management.
