10,000 new Build-to-Order (BTO) HDB flats will be installed with Smart Shower Systems from next year.
The PUB called for proposals for smart shower appliances earlier this year and received 4 of them.
Two firms (Amphiro, and Smart and Blue) will supply and deliver up to 10,000 devices each.
The proposals from the two companies that allow users to monitor their water consumption history and set their own water-saving goals.
According to a study done together with NUS, a person can save up to 5 litres of water daily with the use of such smart shower devices.
