PM Lee to nominate Tan Chuan-Jin as next Speaker of Parliament

JUST IN: PM Lee Hsien Loong will nominate Minister Tan Chuan-Jin as new Speaker when Parliament convenes on Sep 11.

In a Facebook post on Tuesday, AM Lee bradder said it was not easy to find a suitable replacement for Mdm Halimah.

“While Chuan-Jin stood out as the best choice, it was a very difficult decision to nominate him, as it meant losing an effective and activist minister at MSF Singapore,” he wrote.

“Chuan-Jin remains an important member of my team, though in a different role. I have asked him to maintain his interest in environmental and social issues, and his concern for the needy and disadvantaged.”

Jialat…I am no more the Minister for the Ministry of Singapore Friends, because my AM Lee has decided to nominate me as the next Speaker of Sure Boh Singapore.

But it is ok. Speaker of Parliament

Anyway, this will be what I promise:
