A contestant in the Miss Singapore Beauty Pageant recently took a video of herself standing in front of robots that help to serve food at a local seafood restaurant.

The robots also have names: Mary and Lucy. 🙂

Local food court chain Koufu also introduced robots that go around collecting used plates and trays within the food court.

According to a Straits Times article, the robots at Rong Heng Seafood Restaurant can carry up to 15 kg and take food to diners and return dirty plates to the kitchen.

The restaurants owner said that the robots can also help to relieve the problem of hiring waiters and waitresses.

The government introduced the Smart Nation movement to help Singaporeans use technology to enhance the way we live, work and play.

What other digital technology do you think we can use to make our jobs and lives easier and smarter?
