Singaporeans love to take photos and videos and share on Instagram and Facebook. Limpeh knows, cos limpeh does that too!
But at big scale events like the National Day Parade and New Year’s Eve celebration at the Marina Bay Floating platform, slow 4G data speeds can be a pain, because it takes longer to upload my 16-second video of the fireworks or viewing my girlfriend’s video of our Mediacorp actors singing out of key…
So at the NDP next Wednesday, SingTel will be boosting its mobile data speeds by up to 200%. Hosay ah!
To do this, SingTel will make use of Massive MIMO (Multiple-Input Multiple-Output) to improve user experience.
It will partner Ericsson, Huawei and ZTE to deploy the equipment at the Marina Bay area on National Day.
Other events where Singtel intends to do the same is the Singapore F1 night race and the New Year countdown event.
StarHub also said that it will switch on its latest 4G equipment to serve the huge crowds to increase data speeds on National Day.
