Wow…Nanyang Primary School oversubscribed on 1st day of registration

Primary 1 registration just began on June 29, but 1 primary school is already oversubscribed for 1 of its phases.

Nanyang Primary is already oversubscribed after the 1st day of the phase 2A2 registration on Tuesday. It had 21 applicants for 11 vacancies.

Every year, during this period, you’ll see kiasu parents registering their children at prestigious schools.

At each registration phase, a set number of available spaces is open up for each school. If the number of applicants exceed the vacancies, the school will have to conduct a ballot.

Phase 2A2 is for children whose parents or siblings are alumni of the school, or whose parent is a staff member of the school. This is the third phase of the seven registration phases.

But it’s not the only school that is oversubscribed. 4 other schools are also oversubscribed. Red Swastika School, Catholic High School, CHIJ St Nicholas Girls’ School and Nan Hua Primary School have been oversubscribed.
