Durians can gel different religions together like glue

Singaporeans love their durians. Only a small number of people hate it.

But for members of two different faiths, they regularly bond over durian parties.

Kampong Kapor Methodist Church and Wat Ananda Metyarama Thai Buddhist Temple get together regularly to learn about each other’s faith.

According to the pastor at the church, they do not just organise events and visits, but also invite other religious leaders to visit and teach about their faiths.

Since Durian is a fruit, and is halal, means it’s suitable for vegetarians and Muslims. Maybe it could be a very good way for people of different faiths to bond regularly over durian parties. I’m sure the Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth will be very happy with such a suggestion.

Oh, but I’m afraid one other ministry might not be very happy: Ministry of Health. Durian is high in sugar and calorie. Oops!
