Song Joong-ki and Song Hye-kyo, the main stars in the Korean hit drama “Descendants of the Sun”, are getting married this October 31.
Their agencies, Blossom Entertainment and United Artists Agency have released a joint statement regarding the news.
“First, we would like to express out sincere gratitude to both Korean and foreign fans who have given their love and interest to Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo. We ask for your understand for this sudden news.
“Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo are planning to hold their marriage on October 31. The wedding does not just involve the individuals but also the meeting of their families and because of this, we had to be careful about the situation.
“Until the wedding was confirmed, we had to be careful about the situation and now we are able to give our official position. We ask for everyone’s understanding.
“We ask for everyone’s blessing for the beautiful future of the two actors and will continue updating about the two. Thank you.
The pair were recently spotted in Bali together but had denied rumours that they were there to meet each other.
According to a source who is close to the pair, it was said that they both would accompany each other on overseas schedule even if it’s for a short period like 1 or 2 days.
Media outlets have also reported that they started to have feelings for each other even before Descendants of the Sun was aired in 2016.
