Another arrest of a radicalised Singaporeans. If you not worried by now, maybe something is wrong with you.

AETOS Officers

The Ministry of Home Affairs has announced that they issued an Order of Detention and a Restriction Order on 2 Singaporeans.

But what’s more jialat is that the 2 persons were Auxiliary Police Officers under AETOS.

Muhammad Khairul, 24, was deployed to the AETOS Traffic Enforcement Division at Woodlands Checkpoint as an outrider ,while Mohamad Rizal, 36, was deployed as an armed officer conducting general security duties at Woodlands Checkpoint.

Khairul became radicalised and intended to undertake armed violence in Syria. He believed that if he took part and died in the “holy war” in Syria, he would die as a “martyr” and receive divine rewards. Even at the time of his arrest, Khairul was still interested to join the militant groups in Syria and engage in armed violence there.

According to MHA’s statement, “his readiness and proclivity to resort to violence in pursuit of a religious cause makes him a security threat to Singapore.”

Rizal was colleagues with Khairul and was aware of Khairul’s intention to engage in armed violence in Syria. But he did not report the matter to his superiors and he even suggested to Khairul various ways to get to Syria.

Luckily the MHA took action against the two persons. Imagine if their actions were not stopped, it could have caused Singapore more harm.

These two officers were uniformed officers, imagine the harm they could have done if they had used their position for the wrong reason.
