When you GrabHitch for a ride at 1am and the driver asks if you’re a girl who is taking the ride alone, would you feel uncomfortable and cancel the booking?
A GrabHitch rider by the name of “Terin Neo” met one of these creepy drivers last week.
He booked a GrabHitch ride at 12.56am and texted the driver that he will be waiting at the rubbish chute area.
The driver replied to ask him if he was just booking a ride for himself as there was only one car seat available. In the same text message, the driver also asked if Terin was a female.
Terin responded that he is a male passenger and only required one seat.
Four minutes later, he found out that the driver had cancelled the booking.
Terin then wrote to Grab and informed the ride-hailing app company that his safety could have been compromised.
A member of the Grab support team apologised for the unpleasant experience and claimed that they will place him (the driver) under close monitoring.
Someone asked if the driver was a female who did not want to accept male passengers but Terin claimed that the driver was confirmed to be a male.
Sure Boh Singapore couldn’t reach the driver at time of reporting.
