UPDATE: The ACS (Barker Road) boy’s father is actually the lawyer who is suing the school. Andrew Hanam from Andrew LLC has previously been in the news after he was sued for breach of professional duties by his own client.  (Told you…the best is yet to be of the story…)

These days schools still confiscate phone from students. Well, we know ACS (Barker Road) does!

And they got into some legal action because of it.

Lianhe Wanbao article states that a teacher confiscated a student’s iPhone 7 on 8th March this year and the school kept the phone for three months after it returned the SIM card to the student.

According to the school, the student was aware of the rule set by the school, that student’s phone will be confiscated for 3 months if they are caught using their mobile phones during class.

For some reason, the parents of the boy decided to send an email which stated 4 reasons why the school should return his phone.

But the school decides not yield to the request.

Hence, on 23 March, the parents got a lawyer to send a letter of demand to the school to demand the school to return their son’s phone the next day (24 March). If the demand is not met, then the letter said that legal action will be taken.

Of course, the school decides to ignore the request and the parents of the boy has decided to go all the way to sue the school.

Stay tuned to find out what happens to the iPhone!

Seriously, The Best is Yet to Be.
