You must have heard about the four customers, who were upset with their $28 bill at Heng Long Teochew Porridge restaurant along Upper Serangoon Road, flipped the table they were dining at and allegedly wrecked the place with wooden chairs.

The three men and a woman were believed to be drunk.

The troublemakers tussled with the staff before tossing the food on the ground and flipping the marble-topped table, shattering it.

They then allegedly used the wooden chairs in the eatery to smash the serving area, destroying the glass surfaces, before quickly leaving.

Staff members made a police report. The troublemakers left before police arrived on the scene. No one was hurt in the encounter.

Heng Long Teochew Porridge , which is usually open from 10am to 4.30am daily according to its Facebook page, closed after the incident and employees cleaned up the place. It was back in business by noon on Saturday.

According to the Heng Long Teochew Porridge  staff on duty that evening, the troublemakers are frequent customers of the restaurant. They patronise the restaurant at least once or twice per month, usually in the wee hours. They are usually unfriendly but wrecking the place was a first. I doubt they are baying for blood or revenge.
