Singapore: A construction tipper truck tilted on its left side in the Kallang-Paya Lebar Expressway (KPE) tunnel at around 10.50am on Monday (May 29, 2017), causing the exit to Nicoll Highway to be closed.

Several motorists, who had stopped their vehicles behind the truck, were seen attempting to help the driver get out of his damaged vehicle

Singapore Authorities are waiting for the arrival of a heavy lifting crane to stabilise the truck. said ST in a Facebook post.

Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said the truck’s driver, a man in his 60s, was taken to Tan Tock Seng Hospital. The hospital was alerted to be on standby to receive him.

The truck had hit a wall and the driver starts to lose control of his vehicle, which caused him to ramp up into the divider.

LTA tweeted at 10.53am, said the Nicoll Highway exit (in the direction of the East Coast Parkway) was closed due to the accident.

SCDF dispatched a fire engine, a fire bike and an ambulance to the scene. Police investigations are ongoing.
