Nowadays, live in HDB also very stressful. Especially when you have to deal with ugly neighbours. Just ask the residents in Block 112 Yishun Ring Road.

Lianhe Zaobao reported that for 2 years, 2 neighbours have to put up with another female neighbour, nicknamed “Sunglasses Auntie” who has always been captured by CCTV wearing sunglasses and a mask.

For half a year, the two affected residents had their metal gates splashed with salt and oil which caused it to rust badly. Then piles of rubbish have been found along their corridor.

Then things got worse. The Sunglasses Auntie started throwing toilet paper, sanitary pads, food gravy and even urine at their houses.

To try and stop the lady from causing them more trouble, the two affected houses, put up barriers using tables and chairs. But of course, it didn’t succeed.

Even with CCTV installed and police reports, the culprit still did not stop.

Finally, the two neighbours decided to come up with something clever. They built a wall.

Using wood panels and wires they built a wall. Then they placed durian husks on the top. But after a while, the durian husks started to smell and they were replaced with a few pots of cactus.

The 61 year old man who built the structure said that he used recycled materials for the wall.

“I used recycled materials and built it within 5 hours. Wood planks, pipes and other items which I got from outside.

I planted the cactus myself and it was quite useful. I used durian husks for a while, but they started to stink after a few days, so i switched to using cactus.”

Not bad, this uncle also know how to Reuse, Reduce, Recycle.

It seems the wall has managed to keep the Yishun sunglasses auntie at a distance.

Moral of the story: Don’t anyhow use durian husks (it will rot), use cactus to keep people you don’t like away.
