Tickets had gone on sale at 10am on Thursday (May 11) online via the Sports Hub at 10am. Tickets were also available at the Singapore Indoor Stadium box office, and at Singpost outlets.

Anticipating the strong response, AEG had a trick up its sleeve — it slated a second show for the British singer at the same venue, on Nov 12, which got sold out with minutes too.

Tickets for that shows, priced from S$108, went on sale around 11am yesterday via the Sports Hub website.

Sarah Heng, 28, a teacher, had been online since 6am waiting for tickets to the Nov 11 show.

She only managed to get into the virtual waiting room at 9.30am. Although she did not get tickets to the Nov 11 date, she scored tickets to the Nov 12 gig at around 11am.

“Luckily, there was that second gig,” said Ms Heng, who bought four of the highest-priced tickets at S$248 each.

Given the demand, tickets for Sheeran’s first show are being touted on third-party sites – but at a premium. There have been offers circulating on online marketplace Carousell, with some advertising two pairs of tickets for as much as S$4,000 – up from the original price of between S$108 to S$248 for a ticket.

One Carousell user, for instance, was selling Cat 1 tickets at S$2,200 for four or S$600 for one – up from the original price of S$248 per ticket – with a “guaranteed best view of Ed Sheeran”.
